JDA Recipient of USDA Grant

The Camden County Joint Development Authority was the recipient of a USDA Rural Development Grant. This project, worked on largely by Darren Harper along with the Chamber of Commerce, will use the $77,000 awarded to perform a retail market study which will aid in local business retention and business recruitment. This study can have a huge impact on our community and we are excited to start the process!

The Joint Development Authority will partner with an independent retail group called The Retail Coach. Here’s what they say about themselves:

We are a national retail consulting, market research and development firm that combines strategy, technology, and creative expertise to develop and deliver high-impact retail recruitment and development strategies to local governments, chambers of commerce and economic development organizations. Through our unique Retail 360® process, we offer a fully customized system of products and services that better enable communities to maximize their retail development potential.

The information provided from this study will be made available to local businesses at no cost and will give them valuable insight on our local market and how they can thrive in ever-changing times. The information will also help the Authority in its endeavors to recruit and attract businesses to the area by giving us the information we need to better entice prospective entrepreneurs and chains.
